The Objectives

Centro Culturale Conero organizes Italian language courses for all those people interested not just in learning the language, but also in getting in touch with the culture and daily life of this wonderful country.

Il C.C.C. gives you the chance to:

  • Spend an interesting study-vacation in Italy where you will be carefully followed by graduated native teachers.

  • Be close to the wonderful beaches and resorts of the Conero Riviera.

  • Appreciate artistic, cultural and naturalistic attractions of the region Marche, still unspoiled by mass tourism and "unexplored".

  • Live in a small town, in a friendly, warm and stimulating atmosphere.

  • Be the only foreigner in Camerano and speak italian wherever you go (bars, shops, restaurants etc.)

  • Enjoy the homely feeling of a small school where everyone knows each other by name.

  • Study in small groups (max. 9 partecipants in a class/average 5/6), divided into 5 teaching levels.

  • Have contact with the teachers and the school staff even after the lessons.

  • Practice your italian all day, thanks to special courses and extracurricular activities (italian cooking, history of art, italian wines, cinema, excursions etc) organized by the school.

  • Count on the school assistance for any problem you might have during your stay.

The Location

Centro Culturale Conero is located in the center of Camerano, a lovely small town in Le "Marche" region with a rich historical background. Located in the hills surrounding Mount Conero, this charming little town is only 6 km away from the wonderful beaches of the Conero Riviera and only 10 km away from Ancona, the main city of the "Marches" region.

Our courses are held in comfortable classrooms, in a friendly and homely atmosphere, just a few hundred meters from the historical town center, in Via Fontanelle 2. The school is very close to some of the hotels, apartments and families where our students are usually lodged, and to the bus stop (ten minutes away from either Ancona or the seaside). You can download a map of Camerano (469kb)  and a detailed list of the most important places in town (school, banks, restaurants, post office, police etc.).

Lessons are held Monday through Friday in the morning (9.00 - 12.30)

Each lesson lasts 50 minutes, with a 10-min. coffee break at 10.45 am.

The teachers

All teachers are native speakers, with a University background, qualified and experienced in teaching Italian to foreigners. All of them speak at least 2 foreign languages and they are always available for organizing extra-curricular and outdoor activities, to make free time as enjoyable as possible and to solve any problems the students might encounter during their stay in Camerano.

On the Sunday evening before the first day of lessons, students and teachers will get to know each other better gathering together in front of the school at 19.00 to go to dinner all together in a local "trattoria". This will allow us to meet all the students personally and to divide them by levels according to a placement test and a little preliminary oral test. Those who don't want or cannot come to the dinner should anyway come to the appointment in front of the school where they'll be given instructions for the next day.

Placement test

Before the beginning of the course we will send you by email a PLACEMENT TEST that will allow us to find out your effective knowledge of Italian and put you in the right group. You can also download the test here, fill it out and send it back to us (email or fax) prior to your arrival to Camerano. The day before the beginning of lessons, during the meeting with the school staff and the other students, if necessary, you will have a short preliminary oral test with one of the teachers. Beginners don't need to do the test.

Small Groups

For each of the 5 levels, groups will range from 5 to 9 students (average 5/6 even in peak season periods), which will allow the teacher to closely monitor improvements and deal with any difficulties the students may encounter. Lessons will take place anyway even if the minimum number of students should not be reached. In this case the number of lessons will be reduced, according to the number of students in the class.

Our lessons have a conversation-based approach to the language, to allow even beginners to communicate in Italian. Each grammar point and new word will be inserted into the conversation, so that the students can get acquainted with the actual sound and rhythm of the language.

At the beginning of the course each student will receive a book whose contents will be enriched and expanded by notes and photocopies provided by the teachers.

Students at Centro Culturale Conero have FREE WI-FI access to e-mail and Internet services and directly from the school (during working hours).
