| The Location |
Centro Culturale Conero is located in the center of Camerano, a lovely small town in Le "Marche" region with a rich historical background. Located in the hills surrounding Mount Conero, this charming little town is only 6 km away from the wonderful beaches of the Conero Riviera and only 10 km away from Ancona, the main city of the "Marches" region. Our courses are held in comfortable classrooms, in a friendly and homely atmosphere, just a few hundred meters from the historical town center, in Via Fontanelle 2. The school is very close to some of the hotels, apartments and families where our students are usually lodged, and to the bus stop (ten minutes away from either Ancona or the seaside). You can download a map of Camerano (469kb) and a detailed list of the most important places in town (school, banks, restaurants, post office, police etc.). Lessons are held Monday through Friday in the morning (9.00 - 12.30) Each lesson lasts 50 minutes, with a 10-min. coffee break at 10.45 am. |

On the Sunday evening before the first day of lessons, students and teachers will get to know each other better gathering together in front of the school at 19.00 to go to dinner all together in a local "trattoria". This will allow us to meet all the students personally and to divide them by levels according to a placement test and a little preliminary oral test. Those who don't want or cannot come to the dinner should anyway come to the appointment in front of the school where they'll be given instructions for the next day. |

Levels |
B asic Level: This course is for people with no knowledge of Italian. Students will be taught the most common and basic phonetic, grammatical and lexical structures through conversation and simple dialogues. At the end of the course, students should be able to understand and speak well enough to deal with simple daily situations. |
| Elementary Level: for those who have already attended a basic course or have gathered basic knowledge of italian in occasion of former trips or holidays in Italy and now would like to improve and get a deeper knowledge of the elementary structures of this language. | ||

Students will have conversations on issues of general interest. They also will work on short written passages containing simplified syntactical structures as well as get in touch with simple idiomatic expressions. |
Intermediate Level: Students will get in touch with more difficult grammar structures, their communication abilities will noticeably improve and their vocabulary will significantly increase. This level will include reading and understanding of simple texts and newspaper articles. |

Placement test Before the beginning of the course we will send you by email a PLACEMENT TEST that will allow us to find out your effective knowledge of Italian and put you in the right group. You can also download the test here, fill it out and send it back to us (email or fax) prior to your arrival to Camerano. The day before the beginning of lessons, during the meeting with the school staff and the other students, if necessary, you will have a short preliminary oral test with one of the teachers. Beginners don't need to do the test. Small Groups For each of the 5 levels, groups will range from 5 to 9 students (average 5/6 even in peak season periods), which will allow the teacher to closely monitor improvements and deal with any difficulties the students may encounter. Lessons will take place anyway even if the minimum number of students should not be reached. In this case the number of lessons will be reduced, according to the number of students in the class. Our lessons have a conversation-based approach to the language, to allow even beginners to communicate in Italian. Each grammar point and new word will be inserted into the conversation, so that the students can get acquainted with the actual sound and rhythm of the language. At the beginning of the course each student will receive a book whose contents will be enriched and expanded by notes and photocopies provided by the teachers. Students at Centro Culturale Conero have FREE WI-FI access to e-mail and Internet services and directly from the school (during working hours). |
